Skills Development and Care we Reach
TATCO-Uganda is a Non Profit Organisation carring out its work in remote areas of Buikwe, Mukono and Wakiso Districts in Uganda. Started as a small group in 2010 by two members of Njeru Town Council who were faced with a challenge of seing their community members in unpleasant state where poverty, ilitracy and lack of hope for life in the future was too much. Having got a chance to study vocational courses at the Univerity and intracted with variours education and enterprenual stakeholders in other areas of the country, they got an idea of starting up an organisation where they can put hands together as a community to transform them selves as a group. TATCO Uganda was registered as a CBO under Buikwe Mukono and Wakiso Districts Civil Society Organisation guidelines. It's purpose is to promote practical skills and people’s awareness about the economic, social and religious setting in the community. Kato Andrew and Nabbanja Deziranta of Njeru Town Council are the original founders and the continuing Directors of the Organisation.
History and Objectives
TATCO Uganda was formed in 2010, in order to help reduce the number of unskilled Youths and Women, change the Agricultural practices, reduce the environment degradation practices, unemployment and poverty in Buikwe district in Uganda. The formation of the community group was after observation and commitment of members on board who identified such problems in the community. Membership has grown and tangable change has started to occur in the community. Because most stakeholders like to see a vast change in the country, TATCO Uganda has moved and now covering Wakiso, Mukono and Buikwe districts respectively. We hope that when all the desired developmental programmes are inplemented, more people's lives and mind set will change.
